How Childhood Challenges Can Shape Resilience and Personal Growth

Growing up, I faced many challenges that tested me in profound ways. Childhood trauma, emotional and sexual abuse, domestic violence, and a mother struggling with drug addiction shaped much of my early years. It was difficult, and the experiences left me feeling invisible and burdened with the belief that my needs didn’t matter. But over time, I learned powerful lessons that transformed my life and laid the foundation for my coaching approach today.

My Journey: From Survival to Resilience

In my early attempts to navigate the emotional aftermath of my childhood, I often believed that something was wrong with me. I turned to countless self-help books, hoping to find a solution. One book that truly shifted my mindset was *Think and Grow Rich* by Napoleon Hill. This book introduced me to success principles that helped me realize that I matter, my desires matter, and that I could take control of my life. By implementing these principles, I was able to manifest significant achievements, including earning $20,000 in a single month—a milestone that changed my perception of what was possible.

Discovering Healing Modalities

As I worked through periods of depression and severe anxiety, I expanded my search for solutions beyond traditional self-help. I discovered energy healing methods like Reiki and other less well-known practices. However, the most impactful discovery was Access Consciousness Bars™. This technique, which involves gently touching points on the head to release stored energy, was a game-changer. In my first year, I had my Bars run two to three times per week, which created profound, lasting shifts. Unlike short-term relief methods, such as breathing techniques or Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Access Bars provided long-term emotional freedom and peace.

Building My Coaching Toolbox

My healing journey continued with learning various approaches that I now use with my clients. When anxiety hit hard, I practiced yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, and EFT to manage immediate stress. These tools worked well for short-term relief, but I wanted something deeper and more transformative.

I later trained in a coaching method called “Inner Coaching,” a synthesis of Dianetics, inner child healing, the Sedona Method, Joe Dispenza’s teachings, Alcoholics Anonymous techniques, spiritual counseling, and more. This method empowered me to address deep-seated beliefs, reconnect with my inner child, and release patterns that no longer served me.

Lessons Learned and Shared

Through this journey, I discovered fundamental lessons that I now teach my clients:

- **I Matter**: No matter what challenges you face, your worth is inherent. This realization can shift your approach to self-care and personal growth.

- **My Desires and Feelings Matter**: Acknowledging and validating your feelings and desires is essential for true healing and fulfillment.

- **It’s Okay to Ask for What I Need**: Learning to voice my needs and accept support was life-changing.

- **I Don’t Have to Put Others’ Needs Ahead of My Own**: Prioritizing myself didn’t make me selfish; it made me healthier and more capable of giving authentically.

- **I Get to Feel Supported**: Moving from survival mode to a place where I allowed others to support me was transformative.

How These Lessons Shape My Coaching

Today, I integrate these lessons and modalities to help my clients navigate their own journeys. From Access Bars to Inner Coaching, I provide tools that foster emotional resilience and guide clients to recognize their value. Whether they’re facing heartbreak, anxiety, or feeling stuck in life, these methods empower them to reclaim their voice and create lives filled with freedom, confidence, and joy.

If you’re ready to start your journey towards resilience and personal growth, know that you are not alone. Your experiences don’t define you—they can be the catalyst for your greatest transformation.
